Review: Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband by Melissa Mayhue

Genre:
Romance-Time Travel
Pages: 356pp

Challenge This one does not cover any challenges at this same time.

First Sentence or two: The clatter of metal on stone rang through
the air even as the goblet spun slowly to a stop on the floor where it had landed.
"Tantrums will no be helping you, laddie." The old warrior shook his head warily eyeing his companion sitting at the far end of the great table. "You only waste good ale."

Synopsis:

SCOTLAND, 1272. Connor MacKiernan, a descendant of the Fae Prince, is a warrior who lives only for honor and duty. Though he's vowed never to marry, that's exactly what he must do to save his sister. Enter a little Faerie magic, and the search for a bride is on.

DENVER, 2007. Caitlyn Coryell is having a really bad day — she just discovered her fiancĂ© with another woman! Imagine her surprise when she puts on some sexy lingerie and an antique pendant and Connor appears in her bedroom, begging for her help. He offers a simple yet outrageous adventure: travel to his time, marry him, and return home.

But nothing's simple when Cate is trapped in the thirteenth century. The wedding's delayed, someone's trying to kill her, and in the middle of all this, she realizes she's falling in love with a man who can only be her husband for thirty nights.

Random Thoughts -I really enjoyed this authors writing style. This a first Melissa Mayhue book for me and sure not to be the last either! I would recommend this book highly to anyone who loves a good Highlander book. There was also a great bit of intrigue I found refreshing in this book. Usually you can tell what's about to happen or how the story is lining up but this one threw a couple twists at me that I found refreshing.

Favorite Scene -One of my favorite scenes was the wedding night. They were more open and trusting of one another more here than any other part of the book up to that point. I enjoyed the discussions they had and the realizations that they had with each other.

Rating - I gave this book 5 Stars.

I think I bought this when it first came out because I do love a well written time travel. Obviously haven't read it yet though! LOL!

I'm off to search my bookshelves to see if I do own it!

I saw this yesterday while browsing Amazon looking for a new Kindle read. I haven't read MM yet, I might just give her a try.
